Tips for Hiring a Valet Parking Service
Your event will be judged for its quality from the moment a valet parker assists your first guest and takes the keys to their "baby". So, you'd better make sure you research the valet parking company carefully. Here's a few tips:1) Make sure the company has been in the valet parking business at least 3 years. This is a pretty good indication that they have survived and thrived in a tough, demanding industry.
2) They must have hefty insurance, all necessary permits and licenses, be bonded for your situation, and provide required signage, claim checks, key cabinets, traffic cones, and rope or tape. Also have them show you their specific hiring practices for employees. Does the company confirm drivers license and driving records before hiring? What training does the employee get?
3) In line with the previous suggestion, you must get references from previous jobs and then follow through. Call them.
4) Call the appropriate managers at local clubs and hotels to ask who they would recommend.
5) A company representative must come to your party location in advance and verify the parking lots, locations, local rules, and discuss security concerns. He or she must determine how many employees will be needed based on your realistic estimate of guests.
5) Discuss options with the representative such as whether you want the parkers to be all men, all women, or guys and girls together. Ask the representative to come with examples of the uniforms and, if necessary, discuss what special dress requirements you have.
6) Give the valet parking company the exact amount of people you've invited, who has responded and is expected to show up, and the hours parkers will be needed. Tell the valet company if you know that your event will likely last into the wee hours with many guests staying that late. It will usually be less expensive for you to negotiate ahead of time the personnel needed at 1:30 am. It's better to do that than get hit later with the charges for going past the contracted time.

You might leave chocolates and a thank you card in each guest's vehicle, or a Sunday newspaper, or any sort of thank-you gift as a delightful pleasantry after the night's fun.
